A native of Asheville, North Carolina, Nicholas Karr (b. 1994) is a composer working in film, television, and video games.

His concert music is inspired by an amalgamation of minimalism, jazz, electronic and contemporary styles. His works have been performed by the Attacca String Quartet, Eighth Blackbird, the Wachovia Winds Youth Wind Ensemble, ThreeForm, and more. Nick studied instrumental music education at Appalachian State University in 2012. He later studied music composition at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2014.

Nick has studied music composition with Dr. Michael Rothkopf, Dr. William Harbinson, Mr. Kenneth Frazelle, Dr. Lawrence Dillon. He has also studied clarinet performance with Dr. Andrea Cheeseman. His extramusical interests include graphic design, video editing, and speaking in the third person.
